Strenghten Your Core

Side Plank is one of the best abdominal exercises to strengthen your core muscles and obliques, as well as your hips, back and shoulders.


Steps:

1) Lie on your right side with your legs extended and arm resting in front of you.

2) Prop yourself up with your right forearm, bent at the elbow, and lift your

hips off the ground. Balance on your forearm and outer edge of your right foot. Place your left hand on your hip.
3) Focus on keeping your hips from dropping.

4) Hold for 15 seconds.


5) Then switch sides and repeat.




As the exercise becomes easier, e! xtend the length of time you hold yourself in position.




Beware of Cheating!




1. Remember to keep your body in a straight line, tightening your abs and butt muscles. You might want to start in front of a mirror to learn the technique.




Your Position

Lie on your side with your right hand on the ground or use an exercise mat. For beginners, it is recommended to begin this exercise on your elbow.




Always be careful when you exercise, so you don't hurt yourself.
